Barry Hall writes books and does videos about abiding in Christ by teaching ourselves to turn away from the world and receive God’s kingdom and tangible presence like a child. Barry has a four-year degree from a college in Washington State. More importantly, as a young man in his early twenties, he asked God to enroll him in His school. Barry’s lifelong journey of asking God for direction, study, writing, and application of the Scriptures led him to joyful repentance, resulting in increased faith and practical purity. Barry and his wife, Sharon, live in an RV. They mostly stay in Washington State and enjoy winters in Tucson, Arizona. They have two adult children who love God and have their own families. Barry enjoys pickleball and conversations about the deeper Christian life. He finds great benefit in directing his heart more fully toward God during his frequent prayer walks. To what extent is it possible for us to experience God as our God? We know the “new Jerusalem” will eventually come down to earth in fullness (Rev. 21:2-3). But toward that increasing end, we are told to receive the “heavenly Jerusalem” with “gratitude” here and now and with the faith of a child (Heb. 12:22-24, 28; Mark 10:15; Mat. 19:14). Joyously bold declarations of repentance and faith are needed throughout the church to remove the obstacles and build a highway for God so His glory can be revealed more fully in our day (Isa. 57:14: Isa. 40:3-5).

Without realizing it, we put faith in our pride and try to abide inside it for protection, strength, and worth instead of receiving God’s kingdom and presence as needed. This book also explains repentance as a joyous process that changes our minds one step after another as we listen to ourselves, making bold and joyous declarations of repentance and faith. The more our declarations break down our self-protection and align our thinking with God’s Word, the more we shake off the coat of worldly sources and displace those things by receiving the kingdom of Heaven like a garment we put on around us here. By continuing to take one step after another, your joyously courageous declarations will help you direct your heart into the place of playfully childlike faith that lets you live in greater holiness and more freely receive God’s presence and kingdom as armor and as what crushes the kingdom of darkness in increasing ways.
